CycleHop Teams With Local Bike Company to Bid on Philly Bike Share

Cyclehop and Advanced Sports International (ASI) team-up to bid on Philly’s bike share program. The proposed technology is 5th generation bike share equipment with an on-board rental control unit. Users will be able to walk up to the bike scan their membership card and go. Similar technology has recently been chosen to implement a 5,000 bike share system in Moscow. The Philly bike share bid presents a great opportunity for a local company like ASI to create new manufacturing jobs; the docking system, kiosks, and bicycles will all be produced and/or assembled in Philadelphia for use in the local program and for export to other cities. The City is currently evaluating this bid and others and is expected to make a decision soon. To learn more about the bike share equipment visit smoovebikeshare.com
