Bike Share Program Coming to Santa Monica

On November 11, 2014 Santa Monica’s Council unanimously approved CycleHop as the vendor to install and operate the bike share system. The program is set to launch in 2015 as a first step to what may someday become an integrated, regional bike share system. The 500 8-speed “smart” bicycles will be distributed at 65-75 hub locations citywide.

Santa Monica’s bike share system is publicly owned by the City and privately operated by CycleHop. Social Bicycles is supplying the bike share equipment for the program.
